For a while now I've really been wanting to upgrade my room decor. I started by painting some furniture white a little while ago but I definitely wanted to incorporate some cool new pieces as well. That's where Fab.com came in! When they offered to let me choose some items from their website, I was so excited because I saw that they had a huge home decor section. Fab is a digital boutique that also has a variety of other things like clothing, accessories, tech, and many other categories, but since I was already planning on shopping for some decorative items for my room, I knew that's exactly what I would be focusing on.
One of the main areas that needed some sprucing up was my desk! I painted my desk and shelf white, which were originally a dark brown, but knew I wanted something really cool to put on the wall. When I saw this marquee letter light I instantly fell in love! I love how bold it is but how it still goes well with the white theme I was going for. I think it completely transformed my desk area and I couldn't be happier with how it looks. I think that even when the lights are off, it still looks awesome. Now I just love sitting here to work!
The other area that needed some work was the wall behind my bed. I had a few little frames hanging there and that's it. It definitely looked unfinished. For a while now I knew I wanted to add a deer head but I just still hadn't found one that I liked enough until I saw this one on Fab. I love the fact that it's white and I feel like it's exactly what was missing on my wall. I placed it in the middle so it could be the focal point and spread out the other frames around it and it completely tied everything together.
I'm not really a fan of extremely bright lights in my house, especially if the lights are cool toned, which is why I tend to just use lamps, and fairy lights. I think it makes a room look really cozy when the lights are a bit dim and warm. So, for many years I had a paper Japanese lantern hanging from my ceiling and I used that, along with my fairy lights, to light my room. I hardly ever turned on the main light. I loved how the lighting looked but I was so over the paper lantern. I wanted something new, fresh, and modern! I found these amazing lights that have an origami inspired design that is just so unique and fun. Not only are they energy efficient, but they can actually be dimmed! The color of the lights is a warm white, which I really enjoyed, and I think they add a really nice touch to the room.
Another item I added to my wall, right above my vanity, was a beautiful white clock. I absolutely love the design and, of course, the fact that it's also white! I know a lot of people love to add some color on a white wall but I just love white on white. I find the phrase "Clean room, clear mind" to be very true and, although I believe it's referring mainly to actually keeping a room clean and organized, I think a room's design can also give a feeling of being either clean or messy. White, for me, definitely gives a feeling of being clean and calming, which I very much enjoy!
Lastly, but definitely not least, I switched out my old throw pillows for some amazing marble print ones! There's something just so beautiful about a marble print and when I found these on Fab I knew I had to have them! I was actually pleasantly surprised when they arrived and I saw how big and full they are. I really don't like pillows that are kind of flat because they tend to lose their shape quickly. I'm sure that won't happen to these and that they'll last a really long time!
I'm seriously loving all my items from Fab and I couldn't be happier with how my room turned out. They just have such a great selection of cool, stylish pieces and now I definitely know where to look next time I want to upgrade any other areas of my apartment.
